A SIGH OF RELIEF

Walking under scorching sun, I steal a smile from a child’s rosy cheeks

Those were gushing out in full bloom,

A shade under the umbrella could have sufficed too.

Relief is found in abundance like

It is to hold up a secret in the vast silent sky

Like a friend who is mute

But listens to all your wearing cries

Like walking on the grass so green

Which shelters the dew drops from the trample

Like looking for a chuckle

From a joke unheard and uncared for

A friend who had tried to impress a hundred years back

Becomes the only solace to trace again

Like a fish out of stream, barely can move to survive

Finds abode in little hands that draw her out, into the new sparkling glass home

Like a chide from mother comes pouring upon us

Who could have known its balming impact?

Running through all the fears of going astray vanishes in a sigh

The time when fright evaporates in the jovial sky and

Sun, in its richness, shines

Is when life, at times, turbulent, at times fraud,

Revives
